scented candle, scented candlesI have scented candles in my home for all of the usual reasons. For instance I have them placed strategically because they look very decorative. I also use them to create an ambiance or set a certain mood in my home. However I have scented candles in my home for another reason too and it relates to the fact that I hate unsavory aromas and I have a very weak stomach.  I am going to be forthright here and admit that I use scented candles to get rid of awful smells in my bathroom that are somewhat unavoidable when you live with a husband and three children. I also use scented candles because there are often pubescent children in my house playing with my step-grandkids. Because these kids are typical teenagers sometimes their armpits stink. To me lighting a scented candle is better than being excessively blunt and telling people they smell bad. While it’s true that I’m not the most tactful of women I do have at least some diplomacy. It’s really not up to me to tell other peoples’ kids to go and wash their armpits so I do what I have to do to keep my home smelling nice the way I like it.
