candles, flameless candlesI have enough stubbed toes to know the importance of a good night light around the living room, kitchen or bathroom. For one reason or another, I sometimes wake up at night and really need a drink of water. When the lights are all out, I never want to turn any on and risk waking up the roommates so inevitably I’ll step into a table or couch end. For a few days we were leaving on a strand of Christmas lights to keep some light out in the main rooms but reconsidered after thinking about energy. Unfortunately, we didn’t string up the LED light variety.

The solution has been flameless candles. We integrated them into our holiday scene. Placing them on the mantle, in between garland, real candles, stuffed Santas and stockings. They create a very relaxing lights out glow, and don’t really burn through batteries. I keep hearing warning stories on the news about keeping the Christmas trees watered, never leaving a room with lit candles and not over working sockets to avoid holiday misfortunes. Flameless candles really are the safest way to spread the spirit of the season.
