Scented Candles
Scented candles are placed throughout my home. They are in lovely containers and have the best aromas. Whatever room I am in usually has a lighted scented candle going. The aroma is relaxing as well as making the house smell nice.
Scented candles bring back lots of memories for me. I have loved them since I was a teenager. I can light one and be back getting ready for the Friday night football game or a movie with my high school boyfriend. My brothers would tease me when they smelled the candle going about having a hot date with my boyfriend.
Of course, being the sister of seven brothers I knew how to get them back. We did not have caller ID in the 1970s so if one of their girlfriends called I would say “Oh, is this Susan? He's been waiting for your call” then pass it to the brother in question who quickly got a tongue lashing over the phone...from his girlfriend, Sharon.
Scented candles have always been special to me for many reasons but the one I have lit now took me down memory lane to a time when we had no bills or responsibilities...just teased each other like brothers and sisters do. Sometimes I miss those days.
