Scented Candles
My daughter was having her first sleep over. I had a house full of little girls when the power went out. It was a disaster. I had eight year old girls screaming and panicking. I am not sure it would have been so bad it they were not scaring each other. I could not find a flash light.
I did find a box of scented candles, which was wonderful except I had nothing to light them with. As I tried to calm the girls down my husband found the barbeque lighter and we used that to light the scented candles. I set them all through the living room. The girls calmed down once there was light. We pulled all the bedding out of the bed room into the living room. We played board games instead of watching movies. It was a lot of fun. We ordered pizza instead of the dinner we had planned, an unexpected treat. The girls talked and spent a relaxing night. I thoroughly enjoyed our evening illuminated by scented candles a lot more than I expected to enjoy the hectic night we had planned. I think the girls did as well.
