candles, scented candleWhen my daughter got married a few years ago, we decided it would be really nice to give out candles as wedding favors.  That way the people would have a memory of the day my daughter got married and it could keep for a long time! 

We had the wedding in a wonderful rose garden with beautiful tall trees all around and peacocks roaming freely throughout the park; the perfect spot for a wedding indeed! 

One of her friends offered to go there early and decorate all the picnic tables with beautiful table coverings and confetti on all the tables.  The finishing touch was scented candles on every table!  The guest were so pleased; you could see them picking each candle up and smelling it and then moving around until they found the candle scent that best suited them; it was really funny! 

At the end of the reception we had a few candles left over so we decided to share them with a few families that were having a picnic near by!  They were so touched by our generosity, as simple as it was. 

I think candles make wonderful wedding favors and if I ever have to plan another wedding I will be certain to make candles a part of that celebration!
