What do you use scented candles for? Is there really a way to answer that question in a polite way given the truth is that we use scented candles to freshen our homes and eliminate any unpleasant odors? For instance I lit a scented candle in my bedroom last night and the hilarious truth is that I did so because of a sudden and terrible dog odor that burned my nostrils and threatened to make me gag. The price we pay for having beloved pets, I’m afraid. Yet for some reason when in polite society we don’t usually mention these things, which is silly when you think of it. I mean it’s not something I would talk about over dinner and I’m sorry if you are eating right now. However I believe in speaking plainly and I don’t mind telling you that I don’t like smelling these things so I do something about it. Hence I always have scented candles in my home. I also have bottles of air freshener spray handy. I like my person and my surroundings to smell pleasant and I believe that most of us do.
