candles, scented candleI was searching for the perfect gift for my sister as a way to congratulate her for a big accomplishment and found this Box of Scented Candles by Meredith and I thought it would be the perfect gift for her. There are six votive candles in it and two candle holders. I know she loves to burn candles and take long soaking baths, and I love the box that this comes in, so I ordered it. It should be delivered by next week and I know she'll be touched by it. She has been training for a marathon that she completed about 10 days ago and her time was great. I myself can't imagine running that far, and I think she deserves some recognition for her accomplishment.

Candles make great gifts in my book, either for others or myself. Scented candles can change a tense mood to a light hearted, relaxed one or they can make me more energetic. When I need to clean the house and I don't feel like I have the energy, I burn a rosemary candle that magically gets me going and enjoying it too. Nothing sets the mood better than candles when we have company, too. We take a candle or two with us when we go camping, too. Sometimes if the kindling is damp, I'll melt down a candle in an empty can and pour it over the kindling or newspaper to make sure we can get a fire started to stay warm during the evening.

I've even used candles for repairs at home, too. My back door sticks when the humidity is high and I simply take a candle and rub it against the threshold and the wax is deposited, and the door opens and closes much more easily. I know that when I want to give someone something that they will be able to enjoy for many different things that I need to give them candles because they are a gift that are always appreciated and always used.
