candles, scented candleToday when I was out in the garden, I found that our freesias are coming up and can't wait to have them bloom. Last summer I retained the feeling of spring by ordering a number of these scented candles to use in the house after they withered in the heat of May. We live in Phoenix which is hot. Our freesias will start blooming in March and go through April so our season for these heavily scented flowers is short. I found the Pillar Essential Blends Candles online for a great price and the aroma was exactly like those of the real flowers, so I brought the memory of those lovely flowers indoors all summer long.

We burned through our collection of these candles, and today when I went back to order some more, I found they had them in stock. Of course I ordered more and after the freesia season is over, I'll be lighting these again. I got them at Purple Rose Candles & Gifts located at www.purplerosecandlesandgifts.com where they have tons of different scented candles, among other things, all of which are related to enjoying life at home.

I love shopping for things for the home online. It's so much easier than going out to the mall which can be a hit or miss proposition when looking for something specific. Now that I've got the candles ordered, I'm looking for a tea pot so I can enjoy my morning tea ritual a little more. I'm the only one in the house who has time to enjoy several cups of tea to start the day because I work at home. The kids rush to school in the morning and my husband goes to work, so after the commotion is over, I sit down to a nice hot cup of tea before I start my work.

Sometimes I even light a candle or two when I'm sitting at my desk waiting for the tea to brew and listen to some soothing music online before I start to work. The candles I use in my office are on wall sconces so that the piles of paper on my desk don't accidentally start on fire. I'm reading a great book right now titled The Perfect Mess, which describes my desk. The book is about how our obsession for organization is not really a natural instinct, and that people who have messy desks often can find things faster than those who file. That's always been my behavior. If I file it, it's lost forever, but if I put it in a pile, I can locate it in an instant. One thing I can always lay my hands on quickly, however, are my candles because those I keep in a special cabinet in the living room, so I know exactly where they are and how many I have because they are essential to daily living in our home.
